Biography
Sergio Servidio is a full professor at the University of Calabria (UNICAL). Following an international research trajectory, he held a European fellowship at Uppsala University (Sweden) in 2005, a research contract at the University of Tromsø (Norway) in 2007, and a postdoctoral position at the University of Delaware (USA) from 2007 to 2009. He was a postdoctoral researcher at UNICAL from 2010 until 2015, where he became an associate professor (2018); he was subsequently appointed to full professor in 2025.
His expertise covers a broad range of topic, including space physics, astrophysics, plasma turbulence, kinetic and fluid models of plasmas, numerical relativity, and parallel computing. He currently leads a UNICAL research group in astrophysics, plasma turbulence, and general relativity, supervising numerous PhD and undergraduate students.
